Walmart Stores Going Bagless

It is not uncommon for retailers to consider or implement changes to their operations in order to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Some retailers, including Walmart, have explored the use of paper bags or reusable bags as an alternative to single-use plastic bags.

In 2018, Walmart announced that it would phase out single-use plastic bags at its stores in an effort to reduce plastic waste. The company stated that it would replace single-use plastic bags with paper bags, which are more easily recycled, and encourage customers to bring their own reusable bags. In 2020, Walmart also announced that it would begin offering reusable bags made from recycled materials for purchase at its stores.

It is important to note that the availability of single-use plastic bags and the implementation of policies related to bag usage may vary by location and may change over time. It is always a good idea to check with your local Walmart store or visit the Walmart website for the most up-to-date information on their bag policies.
