More Sony Xperia S features revealed ahead of release date
Date Posted: January 27th, 2012Ahead of the rumored Q1 release date, Sony outs more features of the Xperia S, the HD Android smartphone with a unique and attractive design.
Yeah, I’m a fan of the new Xperia S because of its premium and competitive design, and new features of the phone posted today makes it more attractive. Take note “other Android manufacturers.”
According to PocketNow, tech giant Sony may have included more features that will surely attract smartphone buyers, like the anti-stain coating and fast charging.
First, the anti-stain coating is a small feature but a very important one especially if you hate dirt. No detailed information yet regarding the small design feature and Sony’s product manager for European countries reportedly just said that the Xperia S features an “anti-stain shell” — period.
Another feature mentioned is the fast charging that will allow Sony Xperia S owners to full tank the battery of the device faster than other Android devices. The report notes that a ten-minute Xperia S charging will juice out a full hour battery life, so times two, twenty minutes of charging will allow you to use the phone for two hours.
The Sony Xperia S is the first high-end smartphone of Sony that doesn’t include the “Ericsson” branding.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm MSM8260 dual-core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz, features a full 1GB of RAM, includes a 12.1MP primary digital camera, a front-facing 1.3MP camera, 1750 mAh battery and 32GB of storage plus a card slot for additional memory. The Xperia S ships with Android Gingerbread with Sony’s custom user interface and the company will update the phone’s platform to Android 4.0 next quarter. By the way, the device features a 4.3-inch HD screen with 340+ pixels per inch.
Can the Sony Xperia S compete against other popular Android phones like the Galaxy Nexus or the rumored Galaxy S3? We’ll see..
