Alli, Lloris out for game against Liverpool

What do we do? "Gary should come over and tell me exactly how that works", said Klopp.

"How do you prepare a game when you don't focus on it?"

Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino spoke at a press conference and with Sky Sports specifically about the upcoming matches against Liverpool and the Champions League fixture against Inter. That would be amusing! We don't play Champions League or what? I don't know exactly what it means but to focus on one competition can only be if maybe you are already out of the competition almost.

The England captain has scored twice for club and country since the start of the season and has yet to hit the heights seen in recent years.

I think it'll be tough but if they were to go of the Champions League and they had free weeks after Christmas, Saturday-to-Saturday they could be a real threat this season to City.

"It doesn't work like this".

"Even Gary would say, don't let City win, I don't want to be too critical, sitting in an office is different to doing the job. But it's an opinion".

Spurs trail Premier League leaders Liverpool by three points but could move top for a few hours at least with victory at Wembley.

After heavy investment in the playing squad over the last 12 months, Liverpool are better to equipped to rotate than they ever have been during Klopp's time at Anfield.

"Of course we have to [rotate]".

Discussing the global break, Klopp said: "It's a big challenge but it's the same for all of us".

"The most important thing is it is not a big issue and we hope Dele can be available as soon as possible". In his mind he [has to be] capable to learn about suffering; that there never is enough training, always try to be better. I don't understand, do we play our kids or what? We have to do that, to rotate.

"He is the first to regret about everything and all that happened is not good".

'Unfortunately he is not fit at the moment but I am sure he will be back in a pretty intense period with seven games in the next three weeks'.

"It was a kind of a wake-up call, to be honest", Klopp said.

"The most hard decisions are when you have no players!"

Spurs, too, came into the season with real expectations after a transfer window that saw them hold on to every one of the stars. Yes, we learned, the experience was that one game can be completely different to another.
