Jose Mourinho Eyeying $107 Million Deal For Juventus Superstar

Man United reportedly considering controversial swap deal for Paulo Dybala

Jerome Boateng says he phoned Jose Mourinho to personally explain his decision to reject the chance to join Manchester United over the summer.

The German defender has proven himself as a world-class player in the past few years and Mourinho was believed to be keen on bringing him to Old Trafford.

While the 25-year-old signed a five-year deal when he returned to Manchester, it's reported by Manchester Evening News that his agent Raiola told him he would ensure he seals a transfer to one of Spain's top clubs after just three years back at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho arrived back at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester on Wednesday fresh from watching football from the stands rather than the touchlines during the worldwide break. "I explained to Jose that it's hard to leave Bayern and, if I do, everything has to be in place to top this club".

And Boateng confirmed that the former Frankfurt coach was one of the factors keeping him. I feel well at Bayern.

Manager Jose Mourinho was desperate to sign a new centre-back in summer and the situation grew more desperate as the deadline loomed.

One man that was heavily linked with Man United in the final days of the transfer window was World Cup victor, Jerome Boateng.

"As a fan, honestly, part of me is that no one is bigger than the club and I am not interested in people who are looking left and right. Everything has to fall in place to top this club, if I do it. [Bayern Munich boss] Niko Kovac gave me the feeling that I am very important for him and the club".

The experienced defender has won 6 Bundesliga titles, 4 domestic cups and the Champions League during his time at the Allianz Arena while he also helped lead Germany to the 2014 World Cup.
