Manchester United must show winning mentality, says Lukaku

Nemanja Matic has backed Jose Mourinho, who he says remains "one of the best managers in the world", despite seemingly feeling the pressure of being in charge of Manchester United.

"He knows what he is doing", Matic said, via the Guardian.

Pressure has mounted on Mourinho following back-to-back defeats to Brighton and Hove Albion and Tottenham, while his freaky news conferences hint at a man feeling the heat.

Burnley's latest defeat came at home to Manchester United on Sunday, with the 2-0 loss coming just days after bowing out of the Europa League to Olympiakos at the play-off stage.

'I think we start winning this match because of Old Trafford after Spurs, ' he said.

We can draw our own conclusions from Mourinho's comments, but what do you make of them?

The win at Burnley means United sit on six points after four games - and a further six behind Liverpool, Chelsea and surprise package Watford. Following that, they will begin their Champions League campaign against Young Boys on September 19 in Bern, Switzerland.

"Only the players know exactly how you are as a manager". It's good for us also.

"If Jose Mourinho has thought about it, I can see that happening".

Ultimately, the transfer deadline passed and Pogba stayed put in Manchester but subsequently found himself subjected to criticism after he admitted that he wasn't focused during a 3-2 defeat to Brighton.

Up to 10th after the victory, Matic said it is too early to write off anyone as a title contender. "The spirit is there". We had a big advantage [at the top of La Liga] and three days later we had the [quarterfinal] against Roma. but I played the whole game.

"But I try not to judge [other] managers only on that". That's really important for me in football that, as teammates, you've got a responsibility in the dressing room to have a go at each other if you think somebody is being lazy or slacking in training.
