Scarlett Johansson Is 2018's Highest Paid Actress in the World

Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston Among Top 5 Highest-Paid Actresses -- But Who Is No. 1?

Stone didn't feature at all in this year's top 10.

Last year's highest-paid actress, Emma Stone, was not part of the top 10. Last year, Mark Wahlberg led the pack with $68 million thanks to his paydays for movies Daddy's Home 2 and Transformers: The Last Knight.

In fact, Scarlett shot to the top of the highest-paid list, despite not appearing on the list at all in 2017, thanks to her role as Black Widow in the Avengers: Infinity War films, and earned $40.5 million.

In Second place is Angelina Jolie ($28 million) who returns to the ranking thanks largely to her upfront pay for Maleficent 2.

Jennifer Lawrence, 28, was fourth on the list with continued earnings from her role in the "X-Men" series and an endorsement contract with fashion brand Christian Dior. Much of her income during this period came from Marvel's "Avengers" movie franchise, where she played as Black Widow spy, reports Forbes. Following Jolie is Jennifer Aniston with $19.5 million, Jennifer Lawrence (undisclosed amount), and Reese Witherspoon, who pulled in $16.5 million.

Jennifer Aniston came in third with United States dollars 19.5 million, making the bulk of her profits from Emirates airlines, Smartwater, and Aveeno promotions, Forbes reports.

"There was such an obsession in the industry that teenage boys were the primary target box office", said Jenkins, who helmed the smash hit and will be directing and writing its sequel for an estimated $7 million. Mila Kunis earned $16 million for the sixth spot, while Julia Roberts took seven with $13 million.

Cate Blanchett is in eighth place with $12.5 million with the forthcoming The House with a Clock in Its Walls and 2018 Thor: Ragnarok making up the bulk of her earnings.

Gal Gadot was the only newcomer to make the list this year, taking the 10th spot. Both of them, however, are likely to be dwarfed by the 2018 male actors list.
