Crystal Palace: Roy Hodgson signs one-year contract extension

Report: Fulham in talks with Atletico Madrid over Oscar Pinchi

Fosu-Mensah will spend a second consecutive season with the London club.

The fact that Fosu-Mensah featured in just one Premier League match during the final three months of the season speaks volumes.

After a season-long loan at Crystal Palace, the Dutch defender has joined newly promoted Fulham, with Manchester United obviously feeling that he would benefit from another temporary move away from Old Trafford.

Fosu-Mensah made his Man Utd debut during the 2015-16 campaign. The 25 year old will end his two year stay at Barcelona after making the switching from Valencia for €37m on a five year deal in a high-profile move. It has a nice history, it's a nice club.

I do not want to see any Palace fans crying over Fosu-Mensah to Fulham.

"A good loan is a loan to play", Mourinho told MUTV on Thursday morning.

Hodgson said: "I know the club had been in conversations about Ruben Loftus-Cheek".

"I am equally pleased that (assistant manager) Ray Lewington has also extended for the same period, putting us in great shape for this season and beyond".

"Timothy is a gifted young defender who excels at multiple positions, and his addition will further reinforce a strong and promising squad that we have assembled to compete in the Premier League".
