Everton seal sensational Bernard, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes triple swoop

Real Madrid transfer news live

The 23-year-old had been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United but the Toffees have won the race, shelling out almost £30million.

The Brazil winger, a free agent having allowed his contract with Ukraine's champions to expire at the end of last season, signed a four-year contract at Goodison Park.

In the immortal words of one Larry David: preeeetty... preeeeetty... pretty good.

Everton have agreed a deal to sign Yerry Mina, the defender leaving Barcelona after an unhappy six-month spell in La Liga. The Merseyside club have reached an agreement with Barcelona to sign the player in a £28.5 million deal, with the Blaugrana inserting a buyback clause as well.

Bernard, 25, left Shakhtar Donetsk when his contract expired and had been linked to a host of European clubs. The Colombian defender completed a dream move to Barcelona in the January transfer window, but could never manage to establish himself as a regular in the first-team squad.

Mina, for whom Barca have retained a buy-back option, said the chance to play alongside Gomes and Lucas Digne - who made the same switch last week - played a part in his decision to join Marco Silva's men.

"Every discussion we've had was very important in making me feel his confidence about my game".

'I have watched the Premier League for a long time. This is a great opportunity for me and I am looking forward to competing here.

Everton will pay Barcelona £2m for the season long loan and will also pay the player's wages.

"I have spoken a lot to the coach and I know his passion for Everton and determination to be successful".
