Woman helps man short on cash, finds out he's Keith Urban

US woman pays for Keith Urban's snacks

On Friday, a retired elementary school teacher named Ruth Reed paid a visit to Wawa, a convenience store in the township of Medford, New Jersey, where she found herself in line behind a man who appeared to be short on cash. The customer, a substitute teacher named Ruth Reed, looks thrilled to have the star's arm slung around her shoulders in the photo that was posted in the Medford 08055 Facebook group.

The country music star thanked Reed and introduced himself as Keith - and she told him he looked like Keith Urban. Do people every tell you that you look like Keith Urban?' Not believing him, Reed asked his bodyguard to confirm that she was talking to the musician.

"Then, he asked a young lady for $5 and I thought, 'This is it.' So I said, 'No I'll get it'".

"We decided when we saw military people we would treat them at Wawa or Dunkin Donuts or whatever", said Reed.

According to Page Six, for the last three years Reed has had a resolution that, once a week, she'd buy groceries for a fellow customer at the convenience store, making this random act of kindness simply part of her weekly routine. Still, she agreed to keep her word and pay for Urban.

"I said, 'Really? Really?"

Reed said Urban stuck $5 in the donation box at the register and happily took a picture with her. "And who was that woman you were with?"

Reed said she hopes the story inspires others to do good deeds for one another.

"And I just fell apart, fell apart and he was gracious".

"And he really could have said 'Lady get away from me, ' and he didn't, he was very kind".
