Michelle’s charming message to Barack Obama as he turns 57

Biden shares selfie to wish 'brother' Obama a happy birthday

Barack Obama was the first Black American man to hold the position of President of the United States.

From political leaders and doctors to activists and celebrities, the social media platform erupted with kind, uplifting words for the 44th United States president on the day he turned 57 years old. It is a commemorative holiday rather than a state holiday, meaning that schools and government workplaces will stay open.

Musician John Legend sent well wishes from Indonesia.

He served in the IL state Senate from 1997 to 2005 before joining the U.S. Senate.

The economy also grew by 4.1 percent in the second quarter, a high mark that hasn't been hit in five years, though one that was also hit during four quarters in which Obama was president. "I think it's awesome, and I think we should celebrate it", Gov. Bruce Rauner said in signing the measure into law, according to TheHill.

"It's incredibly proud for IL that the president came from IL".

I'm confident that, together, they'll strengthen this country we love by restoring opportunity, repairing our alliances and standing in the world, and upholding our fundamental commitment to justice, fairness, responsibility, and the rule of law.

Of course, Obama's best friend and former vice president Joe Biden also sent out a birthday message. The photo was taken last week when the pair stopped to have lunch at a Georgetown bakery.
