Manchester United turn down Barcelona offer for Paul Pogba

Manchester United's Paul Pogba looks to be at the crossroads again.

The club's record signing was the subject of an extraordinary bid from Barcelona involving both Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes plus €50 million.

While United would have been in line to receive a payment of £45m (€50m) as part of the prospective agreement as well.

United were in talks to sign centre-back Mina before the deal was cancelled due to a row over agent's fee.

Therefore, we are likely to see Pogba line-up for United once he has regained full fitness.

Pogba is also important for United from a commercial perspective as he is highly marketable.

"Pogba came back to United with this great expectation, that he had to show the world how good he is straight away", Brown told The Express.

Premier League clubs have to wrap up all of their summer business by 5pm on Thursday. "We respect the player and the teams they are on".

Pogba was linked with a switch to Barcelona after the World Cup, and the midfielder's agent Mino Raiola reportedly flew to England to present United with the La Liga side's offer.

"There are a lot of names that always get circulated around in the rumour mill - all of them are good players and we respect them themselves but we also respect the clubs they are now at".

'I think the World Cup is the flawless habitat for a player like him to give the best. Why?

'The players are in a closed camp, isolated from the external world, from commercial compromises, and every possible influence'.

The Old Lady want the deal completed before the transfer window closes. Last season, reports emerged from Pep Guardiola that he was offered Pogba by Raiola during the transfer window last season. However, the deadline in England is 5pm on Thursday, leaving United little or no time to sign a replacement unless they meant to replace him with new £52m signing Fred.

The deal could hinge on Marcos Rojo leaving United and he has yet to be convinced that a move to Everton is the best option for him.
