Raptors 'generate buzz' for Leonard

As of Thursday morning, the Raptors were even-money favourites at OddsShark to employ the services of Kawhi Leonard next year. Those three teams, along with the Los Angeles Clippers to a lesser extent, have been considered the most likely destinations for Leonard ever since it was reported he wanted to be dealt four weeks ago.

Will Kawhi Leonard actually be traded this offseason?

Many outlets began reporting in June that the 26-year-old has a strong desire to play for the Lakers as he's a native of Los Angeles, but trade talks have stalled between the two Western Conference rivals.

With LeBron James now in the West, Toronto could have their best shot at winning the conference for the first time in franchise history.

DeRozan will be 29 in August, but is coming off another All-Star season.

Though he missed most of last season due to injury, he's one of the league's brightest stars, averaging 25.5 points per game in 2016-17.

In order to make the DeRozan deal work financially, the Spurs might have to move another player with a big contract such as Patty Mills or Danny Green.

Leonard appeared in just nine games last season but is one of the top two-way players in the National Basketball Association and a legitimate MVP candidate when healthy. The Spurs reportedly were asking for a king's ransom from the Lakers, with potential packages including L.A.'s top young players Kyle Kuzma and Brandon Ingram and a plethora of draft picks, and the Spurs don't appear willing to budge or negotiate much.

"If the right situation comes where we can acquire someone that can really add value to our program and the cost of it isn't prohibitive, then we'll move forward and do that", Sixers co-managing partner Josh Harris said.
