While we've not yet been able to see the updates to the Fortnite map, we do know from these patch notes that there's a new map biome type that's a desert, and there are two new areas present, one called Paradise Palms, and one called Lazy Links.

"Fortnite" season 5 is here and it adds a bunch of new skins, locations and a new vehicle.

Here's what the area looks like when you get there. Now the servers have gone live, we have jumped in to get a sneak peek at all the changes to Fortnite season 5's map.

Like other challenges that task you with tracking down certain items, the Lightning Bolts can be found in various parts of the island.

A brand new vehicle has been added: the All Terrain Kart or ATK. Adding a new dimension to the game like this helps to prevent the experience from growing stale, while also expanding the ever-growing list of things Fortnite offers which other Battle Royale games don't. Fans can check out Epic Games' full patch notes for season 5 online. These will take you "for a wild ride" if you dare step in, so maybe they'll act as some kind of teleportation portal. What's more, the roof acts as a bounce pad although you'll probably have more fun driving them through rifts. You have to figure out where the map is pointing to in order to find the treasure and complete this challenge.

And this time next week we'll be sure to update you on the location of the Week 2 hidden battle star the second it's verified. You'll now be able to see how many pellets made contact with your enemy, through the reticle, and the spread pattern for each shot will become consistent.

The same principle of "Blockbuster" is back in Season 5 of Fortnite, and will now be known as 'Road Trip.' Like Season 4, the new multi-week endeavor requires players with the Battle Pass to complete all challenges from any seven different weeks of Season 5 to unlock the 'Mystery Character'.
