Kylie Jenner’s ‘self-made’ Forbes cover is copping serious backlash

The 20-year-old reality star covers Forbes' America's Richest Self-Made Women issue, and gets candid about how she built her impressive $900 million fortune in less than three years. In a cover story about the 20-year-old multi-millionaire, Forbes conservatively values the company at $800 million, with an estimated $330 million in sales last year.

Forbes says Jenner, who recently become a mom, is likely to break Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's record for being the youngest self-made billionaire at age 23 - though some will argue that Jenner's success isn't entirely "self-made." However, not everyone out there is pleased with their choice, due to the opportunities afforded to her through Keeping Up With The Kardashians as well as Caitlyn Jenner's prowess as a world-renowned Olympic athlete.

"I struggled for a minute with finding something to do on my own", she told Forbes.

"Social media is an incredible platform; I have such easy access to my fans and my customers". Her mother had the foresight to grow it into a full makeup line and ongoing business.

But the Twitterverse has opinions on Forbes using the word "self-made" to describe someone who had $250,000 laying around-money Jenner had earned from modeling gigs-to jumpstart her business.

"Before I even refreshed the page, everything was sold out", Jenner said.

Luckily for Kylie Jenner, she's officially won the Kar-Jenner billionaire race! Mama Kris Jenner stepped in from there, securing their own e-commerce platform to relaunch Kylie Lip Kits as Kylie Cosmetics on Shopify, where it just exploded. "Thank you for this article and the recognition. I was insecure about my lips, and lipstick is what helped me feel confident".

Jenner said she hopes to pass her business down to her daughter, Stormi: "If she's into it", she said. "It brings me so much joy to watch you continue to make your @kyliecosmetics dreams a reality!"

The only real question now is when will a The Social Network-esque movie about Kylie's life be made?

Five years ago Kylie Jenner was still in high school.
