Arsenal sign Uruguay star Lucas Torreira

Arsenal have sealed the signing of Uruguay global Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, the Premier League campaigners have revealed.

Arsenal has completed the signing of Matteo Guendouzi from Ligue 2 side Lorient for an undisclosed fee.

The deal is believed to be in the region of £25 million for Torreira who featured for his country in this summer's World Cup.

The talented midfielder becomes Emery's fifth major signing of the summer following the arrivals of Stephan Lichtsteiner, Sokratis, Bernd Leno and Lucas Torreira - who completed his move from Sampdoria on Tuesday.

Lucas Torreira was unaware that Arsenal fans tracked his flight to London when he travelled to sign for the club in a reported £26million switch from Sampdoria. Wenger took charge of his first game for Arsenal against Blackburn in October 1996 and went on to become the longest serving manager in Premier League history before deciding to leave for pastures new at the end of last season.

Nine of Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham squad are still representing their respective countries in Russian Federation - before they begin the adaptation process at their new stadium - while both Manchester clubs have seven players who are yet to go on holiday. "We welcome Lucas to Arsenal and look forward to him joining us soon for pre-season". "He wants to learn and improve and will be an important part of our first-team squad".

Unai Emery told Arsenal's official website. I hope I can do great things here. I want to establish myself here, which would be wonderful. I am really looking forward to starting this new adventure.

"I want to win titles, titles, titles".

"I feel calm", Torreira said in his first interview with the club's media team.

The combative midfielder reflected on the experience, saying: "I feel very proud of it, it all turned out great for me".
