Real Madrid and Juventus are close to agreeing a deal for Cristiano Ronaldo - but there's a stumbling block in the way of any announcement, according to reports.

Ronaldo is Real Madrid's top all-time goal scorer, with 451 goals since moving there in 2009.

The 33-year-old is ready for a new challenge after nine years at Real Madrid and asked the club to let him go.

Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes is expected to meet with Real Madrid directors before Wednesday to discuss the personal terms of Juventus' offer for Ronaldo.

"So Cristiano, I tell you this: make the right choice".

"Beyond the conquered titles, the trophies achieved and the triumphs achieved in the playing fields during these 9 years, Cristiano Ronaldo has been an example of dedication, work, responsibility, talent and improvement".

The reigning Ballon d'Or victor is set to end his nine-year spell at the Bernabeu with a move to Turin following a rift with Madrid president Florentino Perez over a new contract.

"I don't think he's going to go and I would like him to stay because he's the best player in the world".

"It is true that [Zidane] is special but Madrid makes everyone dream".

Hazard admits the prospect of joining Real is every player's dream but insists his only focus now is on defeating Les Bleus in St Petersburg and reaching the World Cup final.

'For now, it's the World Cup with Belgium.
