Why football may truly be coming home

GETTYSkinner and Baddiel sang the 1996 England anthem with the Lightning Seeds

The comedian, who created football anthem Three Lions along with David Baddiel and The Lightning Seeds, shared a video of himself dancing around to the hit track with his shirt pulled over his head.

Three Lions climbed 32 places in the chart, which is separate from the Official Charts Company's weekly chart, after England beat Sweden in their quarter-final game on Saturday afternoon.

At the final whistle, Gareth Southgate, normally mild-mannered, walked on to the pitch and roared his approval to 5,000 England fans who roared back.

Comedy duo David Baddiel and Frank Skinner's football song Three Lions is on course to top the United Kingdom singles chart for a third time.

Just when you thought it was gone out of your head!

"For me, Uruguay have been excellent, I like Belgium, but I think it will be a Croatia, England semi-final, and then if England get though I fancy them, I really fancy them".

"The first year I left Yeovil I had a feeling Yeovil would get promoted that year, which is ironic as I'd left the club, and they did, and I'm getting that feeling again with England".

Defeating Sweden by 2-0 goals, the English football team now finds itself preparing for a World Cup semifinal for the first time in 28 years.

We only have to look back to the last worldwide tournament to see evidence in this; the Three Lions rode into the 2016 Euros on a 10-game undefeated winning streak throughout their qualifiers and many in English media were backing them to have a real chance of bringing home their first global trophy in over 50 years.

And boy, they've got the backing of a insane footballing nation.

"Sometimes it's hard to break a team down, so if you win 1-0, if they had won the game 1-0 (against Colombia), it wasn't a classic in any way".

"This is a big moment and the whole country & more are behind our guys..."

I actually watched England win the World Cup.

Please don't, please don't take me home!
