Arsenal transfer news live

Lucas Torreira's father says his son will be prepared for life in the Premier League when his "scary" transfer to Arsenal is completed.

Arsenal have reportedly started discussions with Sevilla over the potential signing of midfielder Steven N'Zonzi.

The timing will depend on whether he flies straight from Russian Federation to London now Uruguay are out of the World Cup following their quarter-final defeat to France, or travels via his homeland. Arsenal have already acquired Bernd Leno, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Sokratis Papastathopoulos in this transfer window. Carlos Sanchez, Lucas Torreira, Gaston Silva, Martin Silva, Cristhian Stuani and Rodrigo Bentancur will not return with the delegation, ' the statement read.

Asked if he chose to postpone his Gunners move, Torreira replied: "Yes, we could have done things differently, but I did not want to think about other things".

Against a talented French midfield, it was the biggest test of Torreira's World Cup campaign and he quickly had social media talking. The World Cup is important and being part of this squad meant a lot to me.

Unai Emery is clearly an admirer of his work having seen him at close quarters during his time in Spain and there is no doubt that the midfield of Arsenal does need rebuilding.

"There will be people that will accompany him", he told Teledoce. We will wait for the World Cup to end, and after it finishes he will go to England to do the medical.
