LG G6 on T-Mobile starts receiving Android Oreo

Being an Android One smartphone, the Mi A1 runs stock Android instead of Xiaomi's custom Android skin - MIUI.

Samsung flagship devices already updated to Android Oreo, now the company will launch a new version of the operating system for smartphones middle segment.

We have come to learn that device upgraded to Oreo 8.1 erases the entire message history if the user just swipes off the message app in the "Recents" section.

According to TmoNews, the update weighs in at 1729.8MB and brings standard Oreo features such as password auto-fill, picture-in-picture, notification dots. Additionally, the update includes the April security patch. While T-Mobile allowed its subscribers to text among each other with the latest technology, a tweet from the carrier's CTO, Neville Ray, says that T-Mobile has started rolling out GSMA Universal Profile 1.0.

If you have storage backup apps on your phone and really insist on installing the update, we still insist not to do it, as Google's SafetyNet feature in Oreo 8.1 for Xiaomi Mi A1 is broken, rendering Mi A1 vulnerable to hacking. The Android 8.1 Oreo update brings features like battery indicator for connected Bluetooth devices, an adaptive SystemUI theme that changes based on your wallpaper (dark wallpapers give black quick settings menu and bright wallpapers give a white quick settings menu), and new emojis to name a few. Here's how you can take a backup of your SMS and restore them on any Android smartphones. Now, it is being rolled out to all users via an OTA update. But, do this only if you have done it before.
