Gal Gadot has posted the first clear look at Wonder Woman from her upcoming sequel, titled Wonder Woman 1984.

Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins also returns for the sequel, which picks up with the titular superhero in the 1980s, when she faces an all new enemy - The Cheetah. There is no other difference, however, and the warrior-goddess features the same scarlet armour, navy blue skirt, headband, armbands, and her armoured bracelets (Bracelets of Submission in comics).

Wonder Woman 1984, as the title describes, will be set in the 1980s, against the backdrop of Cold War. Given the fact that last time we saw Trevor he was inside an airplane full of poison gas that he himself ignited into a glorious explosion, it's shocking to see him back. Whereas the first film dealt with the otherwordly Ares causing chaos on earth, this movie has more of a realistic feel to it at the moment, and the Washington, D.C. setting suggests a political, more human element. Especially Chris Pine in that fanny pack.

Jenkins has also reunited much of her below-the-line creative team from Wonder Woman, including director of photography Matthew Jensen, production designer Aline Bonetto, and costume designer Lindy Hemming.

Unfortunately, it looks like we're going to have quite a wait before we find out anything else, with the film not set to hit screens until the back end of 2019. Pedro Pascal, known for HBO's Game of Thrones and Netflix's Narcos, is also set to play an unknown role.

The first Wonder Woman movie was the biggest success that the DCEU has seen thus far, shocking almost everybody, including Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins.
