Ultimate amiibo has been revealed earlier today, following the reveal of Super Smash Bros.

If one thing's clear, Nintendo fans have plenty to be excited about for the rest of this year and heading into 2019.

E3 2018 will be seeing a multitude of esports events taking place at the event, as titles from Fortnite to Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros. will all be having large events with millions of dollars in prize money up for grabs across all of the E3 2018 esports events. Ultimate made Nintendo's E3 Direct absolutely smashing. "As for Metroid Prime 4, now they have a new story they want to tell; a new way to showcase the game and the characters in the Metroid universe in the best way they can".

As yet, Nintendo has not announced a special edition of Super Smash Bros. for Switch.

Ultimate is going to be a massive game.

The title is expected be one of the biggest releases yet for the 15-month-old games machine, and Nintendo spent the bulk of its video presentation describing the game's features. Yes, even the third-party ones.

But for years Smash Bros. had been exasperating a certain gaming anxiety of mine.

The new game features a directional air dodge, which those familiar with Melee know is a necessary component to "wave dashing", or air dodging into the ground immediately upon jumping, at an angle, causing a character to skid varying distances based on their own personal physics in the game. But I can't do that if characters were left behind. It's one of the many reasons why Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite was such a disappointment. Wolf, Ice Climbers and Pokemon Trainer are all back. Mii Fighters are back. Solid Snake also returns alongside Pichu, Cloud, Bayonetta and more.

Throw in Dragonball Fighter Z (sometime in 2018) Minecraft (June 21), Mario Tennis Aces (June 22), Wolfenstein II (June 29), Captain Toad Treasure Tracker (July 13), Mega Man 11 (October 2) and Pokémon: Let's Go! Another change of note is support for all Smash Bros. Ultimate also has some promising additions. Oh and look who's finally joining the cast: Ridley. You can also pair up two Nintendo Switch systems and delight in this dynamic play style, such as in the new Toad's Rec Room mode.
