Marvel’s Spider-Man Looks Amazing in Ten Minutes of PS4 Gameplay

Set to be released exclusively on the PlayStation 4 on 7 September, Marvel's Spider-Man looks to be a pretty darn good game.

The trailer showed off a demo from the ninth day of the Mongol Invasion of Japan, and kicked off with the protagonist Jin wandering the gorgeous Japanese countryside. If you've ever played the Batman Arkham games, you'll feel right at home with Spider-Man, which has a very similar rhythm of punching, dodging and building up your combo meter to perform special moves.

We also see another of the game's side missions, in which you have to find and destroy three bombs planted by Taskmaster as quickly as possible.

- From Software, the makers of "Dark Souls", surprised everyone at Sony's E3 press conference with. a virtual reality game, specifically for PlayStation VR, called "Déraciné".

The studio behind Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Quantum Break is now hard at work on Control, a third-person shooter with some excellently psychadelic visuals. That game looks so fun and whimsical, even if I couldn't tell you the plot for the life of me.

Of course, there is also plenty of combat, alongside story cutscenes. Those four join Mister Negative as five villains in our game cooperating with the mysterious sixth villain that Spider-Man sees just before the end of the gameplay video. We're betting either Green Goblin or Miles Morales.

The new trailer kicked off with Spidey and his pal Yuri Watanabe investigating a disturbance at supervillain prison the Raft, before the two were quickly attacked by Electro. It's taking an older Spidey's confidence and adding it to the action of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, while maintaining much of Homecoming's quippy tone.
