Interesting. Liverpool fans will only hope Firmino's attempts to bring Alisson to Anfield eventually pay dividends.

It appears that he's open to a move and that is good news for Liverpool, who are on a lookout for a new number one after Loris Karius' two mistakes cost them the Champions League in Kiev, Ukraine.

The man behind that is Taffarel, Brazil's goalkeeper in three World Cups - 90, 94 and 98 - and he spotted Allison early and said this is the one, let's back him.

Chelsea are keeping tabs on a potential move for Juventus forward Gonzalo Higuain with the Argentian claiming that the Premier League "fascinates me a lot".

"From time to time I pinch him and say: 'Come to Liverpool to help!' But I know he and his agent are still deciding".

Roberto Firmino has revealed that he has asked Roma goalkeeper and fellow Brazil global Alisson Becker to join Liverpool.

But Firmino has stepped up as its figurehead, and clearly become an important factor in convincing his fellow Brazilians to join the club.

The Reds have already signed another of his compatriots, Monaco midfielder Fabinho, in a £39 million deal, with the 24-year-old explaining how Firmino's influence was key.

"We spoke a bit more about how the city was, about the infrastructure of the club, the city and we also spoke about the coaches and how they do their work", he said.

I congratulated him and I hope he is very successful.

"Brazil kept faith in him".

The departure of Zinedine Zidane has left Los Blancos in somewhat of a disarray, but could actually make a move for de Gea easier to complete.
