Rez Infinite Developer Enhance Games Announce Tetris Effect for PlayStation VR

The first announcement has come and it's a brand new PS4 and PS VR game: Tetris Effect. It's named after a real phenomenon where Tetris players can see see images of blocks falling even after they've stepped away from the game.

Tetris Effect is the game in question, and there are three things about it that immediately stick out. When the game finally arrives this fall, it'll be offered in full HD on PlayStation 4 and in 4K / 60 frames per second on the PS4 Pro (and of course in 3D with PS VR).

From Tetsuya Mizuguchi and the same people who brought you the award-winning Rez Infinite and Lumines comes the new PS4 game TETRIS® EFFECT.

From deep beneath the ocean to the furthest reaches of outer space and everywhere between, TETRIS EFFECT's 30-plus stages take players on a wondrous, emotional journey through the universe.

Tetris Effect doesn't have an official release date at this time, but it is now slated to launch sometime this Fall.

"Of course we made some adjustments for the sake of the trailer (layered different stages at once, removed UI, reflected elements, etc.), but needless to say if you like what you saw here, you will love this game, whether on a standard display in handsome full HD on PS4, or at 4K/60 frames-per-second on a PS4 Pro, or in mind-blowing 3D thanks to the optional PS VR compatibility".

Fan-favourite modes like Marathon, Sprint, and Ultra will return and because reasons, there's an leveling system. You will also be able to enter "The Zone" which stops the Tetriminos falling, giving you a chance to fix your mistakes.
