Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Details Have Been Released

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Nintendo Switch Pre Order Cases Surface Before Official Reveal

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will be released worldwide on 12 October for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Instead, you'll have to heal yourself - or rely on Crash, a medic who can restore other players' health, hero-shooter-style. You can listen to it via Apple Podcasts or RSS, or just listen to this week's episode by hitting the play button below.

Expanding on the fan-favorite Mob of the Dead, the third map Blood of the Dead features the Origins characters from the previous Zombies storyline visiting the purgatory dimension of Alcatraz. You have to admit, a Battle Royale mode is neat, although it's sad they had to remove the single player mode to make it happen.

"Black Ops 4 doesn't have a traditional campaign, we're weaving narrative into each of the modes", said Mark Lamia, Treyarch chairman, during the staged announcement yesterday evening. Could this be their way of proving this rumor is true? Called Blackoutthis mode is "Battle Royale the Black Ops way".

Activision didn't stop with mere hardware support for the next entry in the Black Ops series, though.

You can play Zombies mode with AI-controlled bots. It was also revealed that the map will be made up of different parts of maps that have been in past Call of Duty games. Firebreak, one of the specialists, has a portable reactor core that deals harm to any enemies near it. This is a balance between the Black Ops that fans love and a bold new direction for Call of Duty, and it could be just the start of a changing tide for a 15-year old series.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies will see a clash of both the real and the mythical as seen in the new trailers revealed at today's community reveal event.

For the first time, Call of Duty will be launching on Blizzard's Battle.net rather than Steam. Making those engagements feel as Black Ops and Call of Duty as possible. Although we didn't see any gameplay, Treyarch said the mode, titled Blackout, will be played on a single large-scale map and will feature land, air, and sea vehicles. It was also announced that Black Ops 4 will be coming to PC exclusively on Battle.Net! With the success of games like OverWatch, I am sure Activision has been planning a non-campaign COD for some time now.

The PC flavor is being co-developed by Beenox and will feature a number of optimizations that gamers expect including dedicated servers, uncapped frame rate, 4K support, HDR, ultra-wide monitor support and a "great scalability options" on PC.
