Fulham take a step closer to EPL promotion

Fulham boss Jokanovic hails ‘special’ talent Sessegnon

Fulham have work to do after losing the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final 1-0 at Derby County last week.

A one-handed effort kept out a strong header from Fulham's Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic and Carson was at his best again to keep out a powerful drive from Aboubakar Kamara.

Fulham, who have only lost twice since December 16, will now meet either Aston Villa or Middlesbrough at the national stadium on May 26 and are 90 minutes away from a first return to the Premier League since 2014.

Fulham ended their play-off hoodoo in style by coming from behind to beat Derby 2-0 and put themselves one win away from the Premier League.

The Serbian global, whose price has been enhanced from 17/20 (1.85), joined Fulham on loan in February and netted 12 times in just 17 league outings - making him his side's second-top scorer behind Ryan Sessegnon.

A major setback arrived when Sessegnon struck just two minutes after the break, and Rowett was disappointed with the quality of both goals that his side conceded.

"They outplayed us in the second-leg and they more than deserve to go through".

"If we look at the season as a whole, in some ways, numerous things that have disappointed us in the season have just cost us tonight".

"Last season at Reading, the fans were brilliant cheering us on, so we'll need the same".

'(Scoring the first goal was) very special.

"Fair play to Derby, they defended extremely well, but I think everyone could see we were by far the better team".

'I just get my head down and work hard for the team'.

Sessegnon said afterwards: 'We pushed and pushed and should have scored early in the first half.
