Forecast: High fire danger around Colorado Springs to start the week

Winds will be easterly at 22 to 25 miles per hour but could gust to 38 miles per hour, the weather service said. Tomorrow we start in the lower 40s and then respond into the mid 70s, low 80s Wednesday. Temperatures will be much cooler behind the cold front.

Friday storms will become more numerous across the high plains of Texas as a strong upper level low move across the state Friday night into Saturday. It will feel even colder thanks to windy conditions.

We've been socked in with clouds today with isolated showers here and there. Accumulation stays on the light side for higher elevations.

Monday Night: Overnight lows will drop down into mild territory in the 50's and lower 60's. A few showers will graze by on Wednesday with highs back in the mid 50s. Late on Wednesday showers arrive. We should see a lot of sunshine from Friday through Monday.

Highest temperatures likely on Thursday.

Overnight lows of 9 or 10 degrees Celsius. Friday will be chilly but dry. Starting Sunday, temperatures will push well into the 50s, and perhaps a 60° high is possible. We will have a mix of clouds and sunshine.
