Trump Deputy National Security Adviser Nadia Schadlow Announces Resignation

White House aide Tom Bossert pushed out by new national security adviser John Bolton

White House deputy national security adviser for strategy Nadia Schadlow has resigned amid newly-installed John Bolton's ongoing shake-up of the National Security Council. "We wish Nadia and her family the best", White House spokesman Raj Shah said in a statement to CNN.

Dr. Waddell will stay on board for the immediate future to help ensure a smooth and orderly transition.

Army Maj. Gen. Rick Waddell was a key lieutenant to former national security adviser H.R. McMaster, who departed the White House last week. Senior White House officials said other personnel changes could happen in the coming days on the National Security Council, which has been weakened under the Trump administration but is expected to gain power under Bolton. Meanwhile, US Gov Eric Greitens is accused of forced sexual encounter. He took over for K.T. McFarland, the deputy to Trump's first national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

Bolton's strategy has proved markedly different than that of Larry Kudlow, the national economic adviser, who has offered to keep all of former economic adviser Gary Cohn's team and has made few waves at the national economic council.

"Together, we captured your vision for a strong and confident American and developed your America first national security strategy - which turned that vision into a strategic direction for your administration", she wrote.

A national security source also told Fox News that Bolton is considering a merger of the NSC and Homeland Security Council (HSC) within the White House.

His most public role came during last summer's hurricane season, when he often appeared in the White House briefing room and on TV. The NSC's human resources department has also asked all staff at the director level to submit their resumes if they are not already on file as part of the review process, the source said.
