What Neymar Said To Former Barcelona Teammates Before PSG's UCL Exit

Neymar wants Barcelona return but PSG will hold out for a £355m transfer fee for the Brazil ace

Neymar is set to shun a move to Real Madrid in favour of returning to Barcelona, according to reports.

A source at Barcelona told Spanish news outlet, Mundo Deportivo, that the Brazilian global regrets his decision to leave for PSG.

Mundo Deportivo reported that Neymar had told his former club that he made a mistake in leaving Barca, trying to step out of Lionel Messi's shadow was wrong to want independence from Lionel Messi and was disappointed by the standard of the opposition in the French championship.

The 25-year-old now wants to know what it will take to return to Catalunya.

But a broken foot ruled Neymar out of the second leg of a last-16 Champions League tie with Real Madrid, and the 26-year-old is also a doubt for the World Cup.

The Brazilian swapped the Nou Camp for the Parc des Princes when he joined PSG in the summer for a world record transfer fee of £198m, and has settled into life in Paris well. The Brazilian also didn't expect that level of Ligue 1 is so inferior to Spanish top flight.

However, despite scoring 29 goals and assisting another 19 strikes in just 30 appearances so far this season, Mundo Deportivo has suggest that Neymar has sent messages to former teammates and club representatives saying he would be prepared to return. "It is a fantasy and we are not going to speak about rumors when we know it would not end here".

In a poll by Mundo Deportivo, 67 per cent of those polled insisted that they would not play Neymar at Barcelona. This advancement will come as a huge blow to Real Madrid.

Madrid-based newspaper AS reports Neymar´s father has met with Real Madrid, who are ready to pay 400 million euros to sign the striker.

Neymar is viewed by PSG club officials as the poster boy for their project to become one of European football's most successful sides.

"It seemed insane to me and 10 years later they are paying 220 million".

Neymar is now recovering from an operation on his foot in Brazil after suffering a broken metatarsal last month. Neymar will be out of action for more six weeks at least.
