Curry (ankle) out at least two games

OAKLAND CA- MARCH 6 Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors goes to the basket against the Brooklyn Nets

In the first quarter of Golden State's game vs. the Spurs on Thursday, Curry stepped awkwardly on Dejounte Murray's foot after he landed amid the tight baseline quarters on a layup attempt, turning his right ankle and hobbling up the tunnel, where he stayed bent over for several tense moments.

Stephen Curry's latest ankle injury reinforces how his health will determine much of what happens this National Basketball Association season.

Curry walked to the locker room immediately to get his ankle re-taped and perform unspecified functionality tests.

The Stephen Curry rolled ankle alert is becoming a thing again.

On Friday morning, it was reported that Curry will not travel with the team and will remain at home to rest and recover.

Nonetheless, the Warriors relied on a similar formula when they went 10-3 during Curry's earlier absences this season.

Golden State next plays on Friday in Portland, the second game of a back-to-back. The Warriors then committed a foul to allow Curry to be subbed out.

The Spurs are still waiting for the impending return of star forward Kawhi Leonard, though wisdom suggests it might take him a few games to reincorporate himself to the Spurs' equation once he makes his return from a quad injury.

The five-time All-Star is averaging 26.8 points, 6.3 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game this season. And, right on cue, Durant scored 14 straight points, and 15 of Golden State's final 17, on Thursday night to give the Warriors a seventh straight win. But without him, they become a merely great team, and one that would - at a minimum - be given a hell of a run by the Rockets and some of the league's other elite teams.

"We gotta worry about trying to get wins, winning games", said Aldridge.

For one night, though, the Warriors adjusted fine without Curry.
