James Harden's baseball cap tease is nothing new for 'Call of Duty'

Eurogamer previously reported that there were rumors that the next Call of Duty game would be Black Ops 4.

There have been countless rumors that this year's next big "Call of Duty" game will be a sequel to the popular Black Ops subseries, but Activision has yet to confirm anything as of now. National Basketball Association star James Harden was seen wearing a cap that featured a logo reminiscent of past Black Ops titles.

Even with the possible arrival of a Black Ops IV game this year, Black Ops III remains one of the most sold games of Treyarch, and continues to sell till date. After some research, Kotaku learned that was indeed the logo for the upcoming Call of Duty game. If the campaign is set just 10 years into the future, for example, that could technically constitute being called a "modern" narrative.

If you're a fan of first person shooters, the chances are you're already familiar with Call of Duty.

What systems will Black Ops 4 be on? In this case the rumored time period was slightly off, but we still don't know how "near" this near-future game will be.

Update: Following plenty of rumours among gaming outlets, there's now confirmation that the next Call Of Duty game will be called Black Ops IV. It features a new game mode dubbed Infected and a map called Redwood Snow.

It's worth noting here: Black Ops III was just updated on March 5. It won't be much longer until we have concrete information, so be sure to stay tuned for that. Or maybe Black Ops IIII? Activision usually announces new Call of Duty titles around April or May so its a bit early for them to reveal anything yet. According to the release notes, this patch brings a new game mode (Infected) as well as a new map (Redwood Snow).
