Asus ZenFone 5 Series smartphones might launch at MWC 2018

Asus will be hosting a launch event that will take place during the MWC 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. The Zenfone 5 series devices will be hitting the shelves as early as March/April this year. Nearly all the smartphones under the Zenfone 4 series came with dual cameras, and the company might continue the same with the upcoming Zenfone 5 smartphones.

If recent reports are to be believed, the ZenFone 5 series will consist of smartphones such as ZenFone 5 (2018), ZenFone 5 Lite and ZenFone 5 Max.

What comes as a surprise is that the new Zenfone 5 series will come sooner than expected as the company has unveiled its Zenfone 4 series just five months ago. It also features a "We Love Photo" tag that was originally used at the time of launching the family previous year and sports Qualcomm Snapdragon branding. The event is slated for February 27 and it will kick off at 7:30 PM CET (12 AM IST). Those who can't make it to Barcelona will be able to watch the press event live on the company's website.

Asus ZenFone 5 Max with model code ASUS_X00QD has received Wi-Fi Alliance certification.

Nothing significant about Asus ZenFone 5 Lite has been leaked, but Mobiltelefon (in Russian) has reported that it has been certified in Russia, giving a hint that its release date may not be far off. It also appears to come with features, such as Wi-Fi Direct and Miracast support. To recall, the Zenfone 4 Max carried a hefty 5000mAh battery, dual camera setup and was launched at an affordable price. You can expect at least one of them to come with an 18:9 display.
