Georgia QB Jacob Eason Announces Transfer

Former starting QB Jacob Eason announces decision on future with Georgia

The 2015 Gatorade national player of the year is a Lake Stevens, Washington native, and the Huskies were one of his finalists before committing to Georgia.

Georgia sophomore QB Jacob Eason will transfer.

Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Jacob Eason is reportedly planning to transfer to the Washington Huskies after falling behind Jake Fromm on the UGA depth chart. Jake Browning, the 2016 Pac-12 offensive player of the year, will return to the Huskies for his senior season as the undisputed starting quarterback. He won the starting job as a true freshman and threw for 2,430 yards and 16 touchdowns in 13 games.

With Fromm at the helm, Georgia fell 26-23 in overtime to Alabama in the national title game.

Eason looked like a potential 3 years starter at UGA in his first season.

This does not come as a surprise based on a series of events that seems likely to push Eason back to third string next season.

While Eason has not confirmed whether he will transfer or not, he is clearly contemplating a change.

Good luck out there Jacob, Dawg nation wishes you the best of luck and hopefully we see you in the playoff again one day! Patterson doesn't know yet if he'll be eligible for the 20118 season, and even if he is, he'll have to compete with Brandon Peters, a 4-star quarterback in that same 2016 class, and 2017 4-star quarterback Dylan McCaffrey. He did not name his destination, though the Seattle Times reported on Tuesday morning that multiple sources said he was expected to transfer to Washington. "I'm excited for him every game, and every opportunity he gets, I'm going to give him a high-five on the sideline because he's done a great job". "The best thing about him, he's anxious about this team".
