President Trump began Thursday by tweeting out two very different takes on a sweeping surveillance law, all but ensuring an eventful day for his press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

While the White House has staunchly supported FISA reauthorization, Trump reacted to a Fox & Friends segment in which Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano made a personal appeal to him against reauthorization by suggesting he was in fact opposed.

"The president has been clear what his position is", she concluded.

"We don't think there was a conflict at all", said White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

"We don't see any contradiction in that", she said. The White House has been quick to dismiss allegations about the POTUS' mental suitability for the presidency, calling them "disgraceful".

The FISA reauthorization vote passed the House Thursday afternoon - absent the privacy protecting amendment Trump appeared to endorse.

"I think the premise of your question is completely ridiculous and shows the lack of knowledge that you have on this process", Sanders retorted, adding that the president's tweet "wasn't confusing to me".

Acosta said he does not want to "dance around" Trump's "problem" in the area of race relations, and he expressed pain at saying the word Trump used.
