Jessica Falkholt 'remains in critical condition' after horror crash

Paying respect Wednesday's service was held at St Mary's Catholic Church at Concord in Sydney's west

Home and Away actress Jessica Falkholt has tragically passed away after her life support was switched off one day after the funeral of her parents and sister.

Her parents Lars, 69 and Vivian, 60, died at the scene while Annabelle was flown to hospital in a critical condition before dying from her injuries on 29 December. The driver of the 4WD, Craig Anthony Whitall, 51, also died at the scene. He was driving home from a methadone clinic when he struck the family of four.

Falkholt and her 21-year-old sister Annabelle had been pulled from the wreckage after their auto collided with a four-wheel-drive vehicle near Ulladulla on Boxing Day.

Their mother Vivian, who was born in Italy before migrating to Australia, found the love of her life after Lars also moved to Sydney after growing up in Sweden, he said. While she has undergone several surgeries, she remains in a coma.

"She was incredible to work with, very passionate, 1,000 per cent with every take", Corey Pearson said.

Following reports her life support had been turned off, Home and Away tweeted: "Rest in peace, attractive Jessica Falkholt".

The network behind the soap, Australia's Network Seven, also released a short statement: "Although her time on set was brief, once a part of the Home and Away family, always part of the family".

It comes just one day after hundreds of people turned out to farewell Lars, Vivian and Annabelle in an emotional funeral in Sydney's west.

Lars Falkholt was such a cautious driver extra time was always factored in for vehicle trips, mourners have been told at the Sydney funeral for him, his wife and their youngest daughter.

Vivian's younger brother Paul Ponticello thanked the members of the public who ran to help pull the sisters out from the vehicle.

The Daily Telegraph reports Whitall had more than 60 convictions and been jailed for driving while disqualified but was still behind the wheel.

The family had been returning to the city after a brief holiday when the crash happened on the Princes Highway near Sussex Inlet.

Prior to her stint in Home and Away, Falkholt had minor television roles in Tricky Business and Underbelly: Badness. "We take little comfort in knowing that they are together and always will be".
