Eliot Wolf is Leaving for the Cleveland Browns

Owner Jimmy Haslam will surely be hoping Dorsey and Wolf can lead the Browns back to respectability with haste.

Wolf, who is the son of Hall of Fame executive Ron Wolf, also had an opportunity to remain in Green Bay or join Reggie McKenzie and Jon Gruden in Oakland.

It's a big loss for Green Bay, and potentially another sign that their grip on the NFC North is slipping.

The Browns also announced they have parted ways with Ryan Griggson, who had the title of senior personnel executive in his only season with the Browns after being fired by the Colts as their general manager. All three have experience working in the personnel department from their time together with Dorsey in Kansas City with the Chiefs.

Highsmith, a former National Football League running back with the Houston Oilers, Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, spent the last 19 years in the Packers' personnel department.

"We're lucky to add Alonzo and Eliot to our personnel staff", Dorsey said in the team's statement on the hires. And the Pack didn't have to look far when it came to Thompson's successor.

There's nothing official on the coaching front as the Browns continue to weigh their options and meet with candidates.

Wolf interviewed for Green Bay's opening at general manager this offseason, but Brian Gutekunst was picked over Wolf. Per previous reports, former Bengals offensive coordinator Ken Zampese is also scheduled to interview this week, though not necessarily for the coordinator's spot.

Wolf spent 14 years with the Packers, the last two as the team's director of football operations.

In just a short amount of time on the job Dorsey has transformed the front office, filling it with people he is familiar with and has had success with.
