Onlookers cheered as the couple arrived at the station, housed inside shipping containers in the diverse south London district, a hub for Britain's African and Caribbean communities.

Meghan Markle made her first public appearance of 2018 joined by Prince Harry for a visit to the Reprezent 107.3FM radio station in Pechkam, England.

While meeting with staff and volunteers at the 24-hour underground music station, Meghan showed off a black bell sleeve knit from Marks & Spencer's Autograph collection, now priced at £45.

Recently, Kensington Palace released the couple's engagement photos and official photos of Prince William, Princess Kate and their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. "I can see why your show is so popular".

But Meghan Markle didn't start life as a royal.

Markle, who has spoken out on women's issues, also homed in on presenter YV Shells, 24, asking him: "Is it you that does a lot of support of the women DJs?"

The station trains hundreds of young people each year in media and employment skills.

The organisation's CEO Shane Carey welcomed the visit saying: "We're having the spotlight shone on us from all the world's media".

She distanced herself from comments about a tweet she posted which was interpreted as criticising the prince after he said his relatives were the family his actress fiancée "never had".

Markle wore a camel Smythe Brando coat (the leopard version is still available online) and scarf over a simple black dress, while Prince Harry wore a blazer over a white button down and gray sweater.

They are set to Wednesday at Windsor Castle in May, 2018.
