Amond out for Leeds scalp in FA Cup

"I don't want to be winning relegation battles, I want to be winning FA Cup ties and climbing the table".

"But I knew we were going to put a performance in because they never let me down".

"I have enjoyed the cup competitions over the years". Probably not, but winning a couple of games can do wonders for the club, and for players too.

Danny Welbeck gave Arsenal hope with just over 10 minutes to go but Kieran Dowell netted from the penalty spot again to seal victory for the second-tier side over the Premier League visitors. "They are still a massive club", says Amond. "They will be at home, more comfortable in their own stadium".

However, for so long, it seemed as if the Dane's gamble would pay off, but just when they had looked to have weathered the storm, so Michael Flynn's men turned on the thunder with two goals in the last 14 minutes.

"It's a free shot for us as no one expects us to win, and if we could get a replay at Elland Road, or win and make the fourth round, that would be massive for this club financially, the money from a Cup run could be the difference between getting promoted or missing out".

"I was confident anyway with the nature of them coming down here to our place".

Leeds beat Newport 5-1 in the EFL Cup earlier this season, but have now had their scalp taken by the Welsh outfit.

Leeds have now been knocked out in the third round by lowly opposition for two years in a row - last year they were beaten by non-League Sutton.

"It's a good set-up over here".

"I would love Liverpool at Anfield: that would be the dream for me being a Liverpool fan", he said.

"This is much better, beating Championship teams like Leeds".
