Nintendo Switch is the Fastest-Selling Console of All Time

Since its release last March, the Nintendo Switch has become a runaway hit.

After years of fumbling around with the confusing Wii U, Nintendo has once again proven that it can deliver a gaming console that people actually want. The Switch sold 10 million units in only 9 months and it exceeded Nintendo's expectations by a lot.

Nintendo recently updated their Nintendo Switch sales forecast this year predicting that the company will sell at least 20 million units by the end of their 2018 fiscal year. Well, we just heard that Japan isn't the only country that Nintendo Switch has been doing very well in.

The hybrid console has been on the market for less than a year and has not only blown past the sales of Wii in that time, itself an vast success, but cemented itself as the fastest selling console of all-time in the United States.

Nintendo launched the Switch back in March, and in just ten short months, the console has shifted over 4.8 million units in the United States, the company has revealed.

The Switch launched in March 2017, with the critically-acclaimed Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Over half of US Switch owners also own "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" while a cool 20 percent own "Splatoon 2". These sale numbers aren't surprising at all considering that Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey got a near flawless score from every reviewer some even gave them a 10/10.
