Who Won Big at the 2017 Game Awards?

Fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game got a new look at the game's second DLC pack, The Champions' Ballad, as well as the surprise news that it launched shortly after The Game Awards livestream.

The new DLC is titled "The Champions' Ballad". You can find out for yourself right now, as the expansion is available as of last night on both the Nintendo Switch and Wii U - you must own "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" in order to play it, and you must also buy the $20 expansion pass.

On December 7, 2017, a new software update for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild became available for download. They also completely swept The Game Awards 2017, with Breath of the Wild winning awards for Best Action-Adventure Game, Best Game Direction, and, most importantly, it won Game of The Year.

In addition, the critically acclaimed Bayonetta 2 game, originally a Wii U exclusive, will be launching for Nintendo Switch on February 16.

Nintendo announced a Breath of the Wild Season Pass at the beginning of this year, promising a "Trials" challenged followed by a story expansion. As an added bonus, Nintendo has indicated that it will release Amiibo for each of the champions. It turns out you actually have to complete the entire Champions' Ballad DLC quest, and only after that are you granted the Master Cycle Zero as a reward.

The Game Awards also released a number of new trailers for upcoming titles including a teaser for Bayonetta 3 for the Switch, a cinematic trailer for famed video game auteur Hideo Kojima's next title Death Stranding, which once again featured actor Norman Reedus and a gameplay trailer for the next entry in Bandai Namco's long-running weapons-based fighting game, Soulcalibur VI.
