Two Students Reportedly Wounded in Shooting Outside Pierce County High School

Sheriff: 2 students shot at Pierce County high school

Troyer told Seattle Times the students who were present at school remained with the deputies until the danger cleared.

Two students have been shot near Graham-Kapowsin High School in Graham, Washington. However, there were no signs of the shooters being on campus.

Police are responding to reports that two students were shot near a high school in Washington state as part of what police say could be gang-related activity.

Troyer said authorities were not able to speak with the victims before they were transported to the hospital, but that they have a good idea of the events leading up to the shooting and are investigating motive.

All other students were safe and being reunited with family.

The high school is located at 108th Avenue East and Eustis Hunt Road East in Graham, in Pierce County, and the gunshots were reportedly fired on the Eustis Hunt Road side of the campus.

There was no immediate word on the students' conditions, but officials say both were taken to Tacoma General Hospital. Frontier Middle School, Graham Elementary School and Nelson Elementary School were also locked down during the initial investigation.

The sheriff's office said they are looking for multiple male suspects who fled in a green vehicle, possibly a Chevy Impala.

As of Wednesday morning, two suspects were in custody and officials were still searching for a third according to the sheriff's office. Three schools remain in lockdown.

"I was actually kinda calm because we've been trained since really early on to know what to do in these situations", said Graham-Kapowsin ninth-grader James Baker. The Bethel School District confirmed via a tweet the victims shot were indeed students from the school.

The angry parent also claimed that the 'kids in the Impala have gang ties'.

"As you can imagine, there's a lot of parents, and they're all upset", Troyer said. It's unclear whether the shooter or shooters were students at the school.
