Apple Pay Cash rolls out to iOS 11.2 users in the US

Apple iPhones have been hit by a new and nasty bug- but there's a simple way to fix

In order to download iOS 11.2 for iPhone, iPad and iPad touch simply go to Settings - Software Update and you should be able to install it. If you're not familiar with it, it resembles Square Cash or Venmo. Apple announced it in June during its developer's conference.

A support document has been released, alongside iOS 11.2 update outlining steps to be taken to fix the issue. However, the company delayed it until the iOS 11.2 release.

You can load money into your Apple Pay Cash account to use for payments when sending money in the Messages app. Going cashless is the way to go and instant pay methods are all the rage among smartphone users so Apple is right on time with this new feature.

If you're unable to update or still have issues after the update, contact Apple Support.

First, tap the App Store icon next to the box where you type messages. What are your thoughts on the Apple Pay Cash integration in iOS 11.2? The process will ask you for your name, address, date of birth, and last four digits of your social security number.

You can also invoke Siri and send money, by saying, "Send $10 to John". Apple Pay Cash sounds super clutch but we wouldn't recommend deleting your other apps.

Those who are deaf and hearing impaired can now use their iOS hardware with RTT captioning services, and snow sports enthusiasts can now use HealthKit to track downhill activity (i.e. snowboarding and skiing). That is, you can send money for free if you use a debit card. If you use a credit card, there is a 3% fee on each transaction, which can be avoided altogether by using a debit card. Funds are drawn from a linked credit or debit card and are sent in the form of an Apple Pay Cash Card.

You can always choose from which account to fund your payment. Of course, you can also withdraw the balance to the associated bank account. It's possible that Apple will formally activate Apple Pay Cash later this week. But Apple Pay Cash is different. The minimun amount is US$10. Over a seven-day period, you can add a maximum of $10,000. With the Cash app, people can send and receive money from friends instantly.

That should help iPhone fans ditch paper currency when it comes to paying friends for stuff.
