One killed, several injured after auto plows into pedestrians in NYC

A man who identified himself as the father of a man who was killed watches the crime scene Sunday Dec. 3 2017 in the Queens borough of New York. Authorities are searching for a driver who struck a group of people leaving at least one dead

The driver plowed his auto into at least six people about 4:30 the Richmond Hill neighborhood in Queens, according to the New York Police Department.

Authorities say it happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday outside a hookah lounge in Queens. Two people were stabbed in the fight and rushed to the hospital. "The bodies went flying".

"The vehicle was going really fast, at least 50 miles per hour on the sidewalk", a witness reported.

"The girl is yelling 'Stop, stop". As several people were trying to stop the fight, a vehicle came rushing down the sidewalk, plowed into the group and kept going.

Police were searching for the driver, The Associated Press reported.

One of the injured was in critical condition.

One person was killed and five others injured, one of them critically, from getting hit by the auto.

The stabbing victims were in stable condition. The names and ages of the people struck were not immediately available.

Police said there was a dispute before the man drove into the pedestrians.
