Man United's Juan Mata: 'Big boost' to have Pogba, Ibrahimovic back

Paul Pogba

The duo made their highly anticipated comebacks in the 4-1 win against Newcastle last Saturday as Ibrahimovic returned after seven months out with a knee injury while Pogba was absent for 12 games due to a hamstring problem.

The Swede had not played since Manchester United's UEFA Europa League quarter final tie against Anderlecht on April 20th, after suffering a serious knee injury in the game.

"When you play for such a club, the expectation is wonderful and you always have to win", he told ESPN FC. We were early into it previous year and won two trophies and we are stronger this season.

With United competing on multiple fronts there should be plenty of scope for rotation, which could mitigate the issue somewhat, but Mourinho will need to find a more definitive solution to get the best out of both players this season. We will soon know when they play Manchester City. This was not a one-man work, it was everyone's and thanks to them that I am back on field and can play because if people knew the real injury they would be in shock that I was even playing.

"With Paul the same".

"You can't really lose that because he is a big guy who knows how to move, knows the rhythm of the game so this is the thing he will never lose".

"It's about coming back and making a statement. It's a big boost for the whole team and for the mentality of the squad", Mata added.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has set his sights on winning everything this season with Manchester United following his return to action after a long spell on the sidelines.

"Jose Mourinho knows what he is doing even when the number of players are limited because he's a victor and has been winning every season".

Ibrahimovic told Sky Sports: "I think we can chase City, why is it not a possibility?" Jose said, 'Do whatever you want, I trust in you and you know what you have to do, ' so I was not anxious.

And he went on to win one more Premier League title before quitting again in 2013. "I definitely think Zlatan will bring the best out of him".
