FFXV's Noctis to be playable in Tekken 7 in 2018

Heroes of the Storm dev on the quest to keep the MOBA strong with new heroes and changes

Right before the Top 8 of the tour's finals were set to start, we were treated to a trailer from Harada himself. Noctis fans will be pleased to know then, that they will soon have even more opportunity to spend time as the character.

Video courtesy of the Bandai Namco Entertainment America's YouTube Channel. The company says that the cutscenes in the trailer are just "promotional" meaning that players won't actually get to see Lars and Noctis go on a fishing trip.

There's no specific date for when this DLC drops, but Bandai Namco give a tentative "Spring 2018" timeframe for its release. Other Final Fantasy XV characters shown on the Hammerhead stage include Noctis' party, some Chocobos, Cindy and other NPCs.

As we get closer to the end of the year, various fighting games throughout the industry are rounding out respective seasons' Finals tournaments.

This will be Tekken 7's first guest character from outside the fighting genre, joining fellow newcomers from Street Fighter and the SNK milieu. If you didn't know better, you'd think that someone is trying to turn Tekken 7 into a slightly more somber version of Super Smash Bros.

Tekken 7 came out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in June.
