Commission Head Claims Conor McGregor Has Been Pulled From UFC 219

Charlie Ward

Conor McGregor posted a short explanation of his recent actions at a Bellator MMA event early Monday morning, before quickly deleting the post. I commend the UFC to some extent for doing that.

McGregor is by far the biggest star in MMA and the UFC and it remains to be seen how heavily the relevant commissions come down on the lightweight champion.

"I felt on the day that I'd won the fight". Recently Mazzulli confirmed that they have informed members of the Association of Boxing Commissioners and the UFC, about McGregor's actions. McGregor was not a licensed fighter or cornerman for the event.

One week ago, UFC president Dana White said he was expecting McGregor to return at either of the promotion's upcoming Las Vegas cards - December 30 and UFC 222 on March 3 - but that no deal had been signed. The past 12 months has seen McGregor take time off for paternity leave and take part in a his pro boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather in August, when he was stopped in 10 rounds.

On the bond between McGregor and Ward: "Charlie is one of Conor's very close friends and he's coming off two pretty devastating losses. I need to speak to my attorneys", said Mazzulli.

The prone Redmond, who was still being treated by medical staff following the stoppage when McGregor entered the ring, remained on his knees throughout the incident and at one stage, McGregor appeared to knock an official into him, knocking his fellow Dublin fighter off balance.

He was pushed again by McGregor after he went to check on the fallen Redmond.

"I said, 'It's you, you rat.' He almost f-cking crapped his jocks. That's when I lost it. F-- yous all". He ran into the octagon and confronted referee Goddard, and later, when he was refused entry to the octagon, McGregor slapped a Bellator official.

But Mazzulli, the lead regulator at Bellator 187, has claimed McGregor's comeback fight at UFC 219 has been cancelled. "You have the right to be sanctioned".
