George Takei Says Alleged Sexual Abuse 'Simply Did Not Occur'

Scott Brunton said he met Takei in 1981 when he was living in Hollywood and had just broken up with his boyfriend. Takei

The community, which has around 10 million users on Facebook have been asking George to make a statement on the claim, in which Brunton says he found himself being groped by the Star Trek legend in 1981 when he was 23 and Takei was in his early 40s, after passing out in the actor's home.

Takei, who is now traveling in Japan and Australia, denied Brunton's claims in a Twitter thread Saturday morning, saying, "I want to assure you all that I am as shocked and bewildered at these claims as you must feel reading them". Brunton says that after a breakup with his then-boyfriend, Takei invited him out for dinner one night.

He said he grew dizzy and "must have passed out", awaking to find his trousers around his ankles and Takei groping him.

He said he never told anyone because he thought "it's my word against his".

Actor George Takei fired back at sexual assault allegations against him with a forceful denial on Saturday.

The actor also wrote on Twitter that his husband, Brad, is "100 percent beside me on this, as my life partner of more than 30 years and now my husband, stands fully by my side".

"When power is used in a non-consensual situation, it is a wrong", Takei said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter on October 30.

Takei, 80, was an original Star Trek cast member, playing Lt Hikaru Sulu on television and in a series of films. The older actor was very consoling in Brunton's time of need and eventually invited the model to his condo for a drink.

"I do not know why he has claimed them now".

"I want to assure you all that I am as shocked and bewildered at these claims as you must feel reading them", Takei tweeted.

Takei has strenuously denied all allegations, stating that he takes the claims "very seriously".

Takei, an openly gay man, recently condemned the multiple sexual misconduct accusations made against "House of Cards" actor Kevin Spacey.

The Hollywood Reporter said on Friday it spoke to four longtime friends of Mr Brunton who said he had confided in them about Mr Takei years ago. "They do so because they have the power, and they chose to abuse it", Takei said in a statement. He continues, "I've racked my brain to ask if I remember Mr. Brunton, and I can not say I do". When Brunton resisted, Takei said he only wanted to get him "comfortable".

"Right now it is a he said / he said situation, over alleged events almost 40 years ago, " Takei wrote. Stern asked. "You mean some guy who was hesitating to have sex with you and then you gave him a gentle squeeze on the balls or something?".
