More Google Pixel 2 Problems: Google Assistant Not Working With Bluetooth Headphones

Google Pixel 2 XL

The problem is happening with different headphone brands and with Bluetooth in vehicles, users said. I have had the same exact symptoms as everyone here so it may be for us all.

For some Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL users, the microphone malfunction issue can be fixed by blowing up in the speaker which may sound old school but until Google responds, this may be the best bet. Users reported noticing random flashes on the screen while trying to lock or unlock their devices but claimed it doesn't occur all the time.

"Yes. Blowing into the speaker like you would an old NES cartridge". Some users have complained of an unresponsive mic on the Pixel 2 while buyers who bought the bigger-screen Pixel 2 XL have complained that their devices are suffering from random screen-flashes while locking and unlocking the device. However, the fix is not a permanent one and users might have to replace their devices. Then I tested what you said and blew into the speaker on the front, then it immediately STOPPED working.

According to a discussion on one of Google's Product Forums the Pixel 2 microphone does not work in some critical scenarios which include while the user is on a call or when the Google Assistant is functioning. It is important for us to highlight the fact that Google's Pixel 2 victory over Apple's iPhone X came with their single 12 MP Shooter itself who was quite underrated and underestimated ever since we got drenched in the portrait season. Google earlier this week started rolling out a software update to fix hardware issues plaguing its Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.

There seems to be no end to the long list of issues related to the new Pixel 2 devices. Unfortunately, no software update can stop the degradation of screen coating.

In addition to everything else that's already going on with the phone, it's now being reported that both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are having trouble getting the Google Assistant to work when its prompted through a pair of Bluetooth headphones that can summon it.
