Taylor Swift teases new "Reputation" song on "GMA" ahead of "Scandal" reveal

Swift is on Saturday Night Live this weekend, and she's also going to be appearing during Scandal season 7 episode 6 on Thursday night. It's Swift's first performance of a new song in three years and her first television appearance promoting her highly anticipated album.

Swift's label Big Machine (which is distinct from its distributor, Universal Music Group) is telling accounts that it is expecting first-week sales of 2 million units, according to a report in Billboard, but that tally seems dramatically optimistic given the extent to which streaming has taken hold in the USA, and the relatively unspectacular performance of the four singles Swift has released in advance of the album (as opposed to "Shake It Off", the global smash that preceded "1989").

We're not a music website, so it's really not the goal here for us to assess or break down the latest Taylor Swift performance.

Scott Borchetta, president and CEO of Swift's music label Big Machine Records, posted a curious tweet that included Swift's Target promo, tagging Swift, his label ... and Selena Gomez. If you love her so much don't do it.

We're not saying it's not right though!

If there is a criticism that we've got of the move, it's this - why in the world is this not airing during Grey's Anatomy instead of Scandal?

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Swift for comment.

When it comes to fan theories, we thought we'd seen it all.

If you're wondering why I'm now reciting Taylor Swift lyrics and not talking about, you know, the Auto Club NHRA Finals, it's because the singer has teamed up with racer Courtney Force (who is currently third in the Funny Car point standings) to promote her new album.
