Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has $30 season pass

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will have dual audio at launch, pre-load live today

Tonight's Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Direct showed off a lot of features in the new game, but nobody could have predicted what was shown off at the end of the Direct.

Coming in at USD$29.99/£26.99, the season pass will include the release of regular content, beginning with additional support items in December and new quests in January.

There will also be free DLC as well, with a day one patch adding dual audio options for Japanese voiceovers and English subtitles.

Along withe aforementioned DLC, the Xenoblade Chronicles2 Nintendo Direct presentation explained the expanded battle system, insisting it will feel familiar to fans of the first game.

Breath of the Wild players on Switch and Wii U will be handed free DLC this week on November 9. Blades are artificial lifeforms that bond with Drivers to lend them their weapons and powers in battle.

Blades are described as having a vast array of support abilities, some which can increase the number of items that the player can collect or open new paths to travel through, amongst other abilities. The outfit, seen above, is inspired by the main character of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Selecting different Blades will provide the player with different possible strategies during the real-time combat.

"Fans who want to expand their epic adventure can purchase an Expansion Pass for the game", Nintendo announced. The collector's edition and special Nintendo pro controller will also release on launch day. No word on if they're exclusive to the pass itself, though they may be available as early as the game's launch. Hopefully, as a December release, it can make waves late in the year and give Switch owners a new big RPG to sink their teeth into.

Players can preorder all the DLC now by buying a $30 expansion pass.
